PostSubject: My MK1 caddy   My MK1 caddy EmptySun Nov 07, 2010 1:51 pm

Ive had my caddy for over a year now, Just passed my test a few months ago though.. so you may have seen me around alot more recently Smile

Long story short, this is it when we bought it..
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And this is it today Smile

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

It's needed hundreds of hours work and loads of welding and there's hardly anything left standard on it anymore..

It's been fun working on though and I hope to carry on working on it! (Saying that I broke down today so it looks like it needs more working on Rolling Eyes )

Anyway I hope I get to meet some of you guys on here!
I'm glad you (Havoc on the caddyforum) PM'd me about this as i've been searching for a Local forum Smile

Cheers

Looking sweet, running on wolfrace alloys. Mate of mine Scunny way has also got wolfrace for his caddy, they look well.

Thanks Smile

Had a few problems with the ET of them, also they were designed for drum brakes so have no calliper clearance scratch

Does you mate live anywhere around here? Only ever seen one other caddy on the roads Shocked

Teaches me to read more thoroughly Embarassed

No he lives in scunthorpe.
His caddy has a early mk1 dash and a 16v engine which was on carbs but he had ditched it for fuel injection, just for the reliability.
There is a tidy white caddy I often see in Harrogate town center, the bloke who uses it cuts the grass around there.

There is a grey one lowered running on Ronals and lowered. I see that around baildon (bradford)

They are out there.....................but rare.

I know of one in york, its got a disabled convertion made to it, so has a large rear cab and the reat is on air so you can get a wheel chair in and out! The lad who has it now wide rims on it! very different.

You can get some good power from diesel. My brother had near on 180bhp from his A3 and has a BMW M sport diesel which has just over 200bhp now.
I should think the 130bhp tdi VAG engine from the mk4 golf etc will be available for a good price these days.

ahaha, don't try going to the tip then, they have the same but higher!

How did you make it down to the sorting office anyway!? those square speed bumps are a nightmare,
unless there's traffic I usually try to drive between them lol!
